  • Blur are coming to your local multiplex
Keep January 2010 free. You're going to one of the most important music-related movies of a generation, and arguably one of the most important ever released. "No Distance Left To Run", The Blur biopic hits cinemas early next year. The trailer is enough to set the pulse racing, as it showcases briefly how the band felt after their split, and how deep down they still had a strong urge and desire to reform and recreate one of the most influential musical acts of all time. This is perfect news, also visible on the band's website, which comes after the past two Sunday's listening, thanks to the free Live CD from this year's festivals, and also the downloads from...

  • Some people take gaming too seriously.
Ever seen those warnings on the front of games, or their boxes, where they recommend that you shouldn't play the Playstation or Xbox for extended periods of time or in the dark, as they pose potential health risks? Well, this is a perfect example of how it all goes wrong. This kid was gaming on the latest version of action game Modern Warfare 2 for 17 hours, so he says. And, surprise surprise, he's gone nuts. First we see him slurring his words (hard enough to deciper in his already difficult accent), then he starts to lose it on video, getting violent and punching a wall, until the grand finale- which you can cringe at for yourself. Seriously, these games ...

  • The Shock Factor – Has Timbaland still got it?
I'm really looking forward to this. Timbaland's long awaited new album, Shock Value 2. I have been excited about this since hearing (and playing on repeat, constantly) his multi-platinum record Timbaland Presents Shock Value way back in 2007 when he collaborated with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtdado, Keri Hilson, The Hives, Fall Out Boy, Elton John, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre and Missy Elliot, to name a but a few- some big players, at the height of their career. Next month he brings his latest tracks to the table. The tracklist is as follows: 1. Intro By DJ Felli Fel 2. Carry Out - With Justin Timberlake 3. Lose Control - With Jojo 4. Meet In...

  • A Space Odyssey
It's one of those questions you ask yourself on a daily basis- "What would Earth look like if it had rings like Saturn?". Never fear, Uncle Dave has the answer for you. For the next few minutes, take time out of your workday and watch this magnificent video. Science students or geeks beware- such a concept may turn you on. Thanks, Eoin Kelleher for alerting me to this wonderful piece of animation. Viewers on Facebook/RSS Readers - You may not be able to see this video. • “Lily Allen CD’s- 2 for a Euro!”
I really wonder about Ms. Allen. Not because of all the trials and tribulations that she's gone through, but because I get so confused by some of the things she says, and how often she changes her mind. In this case, it is on the controversial topic of illegal music downloading and piracy, which has undoubtedly become a very important topic in this modern era. Lily Allen was very outspoken, highlighting her disgust and anger at fans and internet users who were downloading her tracks from Peer-to-Peer networks like Limewire and Kazaa, via BitTorrent services and torrent websites like The Pirate Bay and Mininova, to name but a few. She spoke in favour of disconn...
