Flags near the Little Big Tent

Bring on the concerts, that’s what I say.

I’ve got the Irish Festival Awards tomorrow, which will be über-fantastical (Thanks for the invite, by the way).

Which starts me thinking- what are the festivals going to be like this year? Ireland’s got some pretty good ones- both mainstream and niche. Oxegen is always a sure-fire big boy, with some of the world’s finest musical artists gracing the stage, but lets not forget the superb spectacle that is Electric Picnic. People forget that it was once a single day event- now getting widely recognised as a serious weekend on the Irish (and European) music calendar.

There’s also tons of festivals across the continent worth checking out- many of which I’ve only started to hear about. These events just pop up each year, as the number of them grows enormously.

Who will be playing? Will the old reliables be there from the festival circuit? Who will be new to it? Will some of the huge names from the UK festivals pay us a visit?

‘Tis the season to start anticipating.

Until then, I’m looking forward to rocking out, having some free (sponsored) Bavaria and meeting people tomorrow at the awards.

Summer, how I cannot wait for you.
