He's back, and he (apparently) means business. Yep, Basshunter has hit our stereos again.
And, he's just in time to try and grab some of the summer sound with his track Saturday, which received its first airplay last week on Scott Mills' Friday Floorfillers. However, with all Basshunter's work people either love him or hate him. The song, which is very different to his other work (No, there's not as much "unce-unce-uncing") sounds more like something that RedOne produced (the mastermind behind Lady Gaga). The track, which hasn't yet got a release date, is being well received by a strong mix of people and isn't being shunned-off universally as rubbish Eurodance.
The video has also dropped, as posted by the record label Hard2Beat, and features Jonas Erik Altberg- Sorry, Basshunter, being mauled by women in a nightclub and fulfilling his desires. After all, it's a Saturday.
*Note: The women mauling Basshunter in the Saturday video are not The Saturdays.
The video can be seen below...
Well, does the song redeem the artist? Will you be happy to reload your Basshunter tracks back onto your iPod- the songs you denied that you ever had, ever since your mates slagged you for having "Now You're Gone" on your mp3 player, as well as the Swedish version, "Boten Anna".
One of my favourite rappers, Example, has even said the song was "far too well produced" for our favourite Swedish dance artist.
Could this be a new sense of musical direction for Basshunter?
