(Well, nearly.)
Tomorrow, at the crack of dawn, I'm departing for Madrid, Spain, for the sole purpose of catching up with my fellow Sony Ericsson Fanwalkers, one year on, and for attending the MTV Europe Music Awards 2010, from the Caja Magica venue, seen above.
I cannot wait to see my friends from across Europe, many of which have travelled a great distance to be part of the reunion. It's hard to believe that it's been over twelve months since I first departed from Hamburg to Berlin on the event, all available to see online at www.fanwalk.tv. It's also incredible, truly, to still remain in contact and so well connected with so many different people (99 to be exact) from many different countries, and many different cultures and backgrounds. We're all so different, but we've all got so much in common.
I'll be hitting the venue on Sunday afternoon, hours ahead of the live show, which you can watch on your regional MTV channel at 8PM GMT/9PM CET. It's hosted by the lovely Eva Longoria, with the usual all-star cast of performers and presenters. As per usual, its sure to be a spectacular show. And honestly, if you think it's good on TV, you should see it in person. I still can feel the heat from the flames blasted out at the opening of the show in Berlin last year, as pop-punk rockers Green Day threw out a whopping performance.
Regardless, it's going to be a fun weekend, and I will keep in touch with you. As per usual, you can catch updates from the weekend (and in particular the show) via Twitter and (possibly) on the blog. If I don't get material up, you can bet that you'll have a full written report upon my return next week.
¡Hasta pronto!
