"I can't believe the day has finally come/Imma Get Big and you're gonna get small/I make mixes by day and beats by night/But all I get from people is yo' gonna get big (No lie)/I'm DJ Lucci and I'm a mix-er/But now here's DJ B-Ri who's gonna take over (Hollar!)"
It's so good to see the young'uns being creative and making fantastic new contemporary music. These are the lyrics from the smash hit track "Imma Get Big". Two American youngsters, operating under the very, erm, hip-hop monikers "DJ Lucci" and "DJ B-Ri" have created, so excellently, a rap song, witnessed in it's glory below, with an accompanying video, for good measure. Oh, I forgot to say it's shocking. Shockingly good, in a deplorable way! Basically, it's side splittingly funny and excruciatingly annoying at the same time.
I know I write regularly with great new music, but this isn't one of these articles. This is just a horrendous video I just had to share. As I said, it's called Imma Get Big, and you'll be hearing those words a lot in this video. You'll also see the two rappers (if that's what I refer to them as) with an over-sized dollar bill, gangsta' clothes and posing outside some rather large houses, one of which isn't even built.
In particular, look out for 1:26 when the duo (lost for words- really- from overuse, perhaps?) begin to repeat the lyrics in a very strange manner. Or check out the time when they pose like tough guys by an ice-cream truck. Or drop words on a trailer. Or spit some serious lyrics in the dark, with merely the lights of a car offering clarity to the video. Oh, so many things.
Good to see that rap music isn't dead.
