Who is this guy?
David O’Keeffe is a young, up-and-coming journalist and broadcaster with a flair for entertainment and media. He writes articles on music, pop culture, business, lifestyle and a variety of other topics. His website was nominated in two categories at the Irish Blog Awards, as voted by readers and users, and has since received much praise.
Doing what exactly?
David has been heard on various Irish radio stations, such as Blast FM, Dublin City FM (formerly Anna Livia FM) along with KISS FM, Mix FM, DCUFM, Dublin’s 98 (now 98fm), Dublin South FM and many more. He has also appeared on RTÉ 2FM‘s Gerry Ryan Show, and on Spin 1038 for various of his projects and upon features which he was associated with. Additionally, holding accreditations and certificates in public performance, drama and speech-craft, he is a voice-over artist who has featured on a number of radio station images, advertisements and broadcast shows.
Separately, David is an accomplished Master of Ceremonies (MC) and DJ. He fuses excellent stage presence with strong interaction with the crowd, along with his quick and distinctive wit. His character has become highly recognised and his energetic performances have entertained hundreds.
Erm, anything else?
In 2009, David took part in the famous Sony Ericsson Fanwalk, which took place in Germany, in association with MTV Networks. Here he joined 99 other Europeans for two weeks walking 400km, with round-the-clock filming and recording for internet “webisodes”. The “Fanwalk” was broadcast online, and featured on global MTV News broadcasts. He was also the mastermind behind various campaigns, including the MTV for Dublin appeal, launched in 2010, which garnered a phenomenal response.
Any random snippets of information?
O’Keeffe currently is creating music for several side projects and bands. He speaks English, Spanish and Irish (but would like to know more) and dabbles, badly, with Esperanto, just for the fun of it.
In his free time he enjoys Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain, preferably at the same time, but more commonly can be found munching on chicken wings (his speciality) and pints.
