John Lennon would have been 70 this year, and as tribute his albums are being re-released in memory of the influential artist and member of The Beatles. Yoko Ono, his partner, along with professionals from Abbey Road studios and Avatar Studios in New York have got to work remastering the songs. The 121 tracks will be available on download and on CD around early October, or more specifically around the 9th of the month, which was Lennon's birthday. [NME]

Kylie Minogue's new album leaked recently and it's got overall quite good reviews, especially from the lovely folk(s) at PopJustice. They were even lucky enough to get a phone interview with her where she stated how she's more back on track (musically) since X, how she's released the best comeback tune in ages and how she has "Kylie Moments"- those special, distinctive but highly inspiring moments of emotion, found when listening to a Kylie Minogue song. If you've not seen them, Katy Perry is on the front cover of Esquire magazine this month in the UK (not the US edition) with her California Gurls' on show, on the front cover. It's quite the magazine, methinks. Why? Because Katy is on it. No other reason. (Oh, and sorry, for the sexist statement and the bag joke.)

I had the pleasure of watching most of Glastonbury this week. And, after seeing Stevie Wonder play on the Sunday night, I'll agree that this was one of the best years of the festival in a long time. Many people seem to agree. If you've not seen the superb performance from the legendary musician, you can take a look here. Plus, Muse can be seen here (albeit, without their rumoured and anticipated spaceship), and pretty much every other artist that the BBC got to video.

However, what was the most important thing? Can the artists play the infamous Vuvuzela; the noisy little butter that is wrecking the World Cup that they are determined never to ban? The question was posed to the bands, and the video proves this below. Watch out for Kele Okereke, he's not into it at all.

Tuneskies of the Day

From their latest offering, Factory is the first track from Band of Horses new album, entitled Infinite Arms. The lyrics are most interesting, and compliment the music excellently. They've been described as story-tellers, and as an album opener there couldn't be a better way to continue that title than with this wonderful track. Plus, you can download it today legitimately, free of charge. How nice is that?

It's Sunday. And, like most people, that means that it's the perfect opportunity to have a fry-up. Sausages, pudding, tomatoes and eggs, along with rashers. Personally, I'd just live with the bacon- as it's one of the best bits of the meal, especially when really crispy. I had to question my love for it, so I quizzed myself online. Apparently I'm 78% addicted to bacon. What are you?

It is well into April now, and colleges and universities are starting to have final end of year exams. As mentioned on Twitter last night, I'm going to bring back daily more frequent Tuneskies of the Day.

I'm not trying to make this personal blog related only to music (I'll leave the legend that is Nialler9 to that), but I do like to share and ramble on about some audio delights that I encounter or listen to. On the microblog I will attempt to keep it regular, with a Tuneskie at least daily, but the website will not be as frequent.

Billy Talent - "Saint Veronika"

Taken off Billy Talent III, the latest offering from the Canadian punk outfit, Saint Veronika is the new single- the video of which made its début on the bands Myspace page on February 1st. Hearing Benjamin's voice (the lead vocalist) brings me straight back to the days when I was listening to their first album. Although the tracks are darker on the newer material, it still gives a delivers a loud, angst-ridden sound. The intro to the video itself could be something from Slipknot, but it is nonetheless worth watching and hearing.

MGMT - "Time to Pretend"

Congratulations will be hitting our world on April 13th, and I'm pretty excited about it. New material will be a nice change from the constant radio airplay of Kids and Electric Feel: not that I don't love these songs, and the old album for that matter, but I know that this band can (hopefully) offer another selection of cracking tunes, and if we're lucky, another memorable performance at Oxegen.

Yes. I still cannot get over the tent at Oxegen 2008, the band leaving the stage due to that drunk chick' (and everyone else) climbing the support beams, and returning to deliver a highly charged emotional rendition of some of their biggest songs. That really was an incredible show.

There's no video for this (and I'm glad there isn't- it would be bizarre), but it's the Chewy Chocolate Cookies remix of Warp from the 2009 release Romborama. It's funky, it's fun, and it's most definitely a song to listen to as we approach the weekend.

Tomorrow morning I am departing on another magical journey, only this time to Munich, Germany, where I shall be meeting up with the lovely folks from the Sony Ericsson Fanwalk that way back in October of last year. However, the main thing is the album launch from German Brit-pop band, Pardon Ms Arden, who were the "official band" of the Fanwalk. Their brand (spanking) new record is out on Friday, and we're heading from across Europe to be a part of this important occasion.

Speaking about the band, I'm going to start getting their name out here in Ireland, and along with my fellow fans in the United Kingdom. They are really a talented group of musicians who offer an upbeat, well crafted show and provide truly excellent, lively music. They are undoubtedly radio worthy, and if their album isn't a hit I'll be genuinely shocked.

Since travelling to Germany last summer for a holiday glorified piss-up with friends and from returning (unexpectadly) for the Fanwalk, I've grown to love the nation. The people are lovely, the scenery and the varieties of city are incredible and the overall experience is most enjoyable. Even thought I speak Spanish, I enjoy what Germany has to offer.

As usual, I will try to update my Twitter account on the go, along with my Foursquare (for those who I really know). I will also attempt to drop a Blog or two on the weekend. But, for now, I leave you with some videos and songs from Pardon Ms Arden- your new favourite band.

Hadouken! - "For The Masses" (Album)

Hadouken! have returned with the release of their latest offering, For The Masses, which brings a new sound to the band which were described as past of the creation of Nu-Rave, along with Klaxons and of course, Shitdisco. For The Masses delivers the band's darker lyrics and music, a far more aggressive and pounding sound than their 2008 debut Music for an Accelerated Culture. Standout tracks include "M.A.D." and the mind blowing "Turn the Lights Out". The album was produced by the Dutch Drum and Bass trio, Noisia, who have worked with the likes of The Prodigy and, somehow, artists such as Robbie Williams- but don't let that last one turn your off.

Dave Wrangler produces music that'll make you feel good, mashing and mixing songs from dozens of different genres. He's dropping his record Under The Influence next month (February 10th), but until then I fully recommend this remix of The XX's "Stars".

It's no comparison to the original, but it's got a great sound to it.

Well, have you seen the latest parody?

It's by The Midnight Beast, featuring St£fan, a group of witty and lyrically bonkers Englishmen, who've ripped Tik Tok to shreds, and left a track that will stick in your head. Next time you hear the real song on the radio, try not to think of this parody, or that video.
